Red Creme Nail Polish Swatches

Okay, all you red lovers- are you ready? Today I am posting swatches of all the red creme polishes I own. Some of you may wonder why I am posting swatches of nail colors that debuted years ago. The reason for this is that I have seen some of these swatches- on lighter skin tones. I have often wanted to know what a color might look like against my own skin tone, not to mention the fact that various nail shades can pull different undertones depending on the person wearing it (and you will see this happen when you scroll down to the photos). I also believe that it can’t hurt to add another swatch to the batch of nail polish porn that’s available on the web (and don’t tell my grandma that I used the word “porn”). So to assist all the tan skinned folks out there, here are the swatches.

I divided my reds into two categories: creme and shimmer/glitter. This makes it is easier for me to swatch them, and easier for people to find in Internet searches. I will swatch my blues, purples, greens, browns, golds, pinks, and neutrals sometime soon, but I may not categorize them by finish the way I did with the reds. Just warning you. I will have to figure out if I have so many of each color that they have to be divided as such. I am also including red-toned burgundies in today’s category.

Introducing the red and burgundy cremes, on NC42 skin. All swatches were done with two coats, unless otherwise noted:

Sally Hansen Cinna-Snap

Milani Bella Berry-I had opacity issues with this one. What you are seeing is four coats.

American Apparel Downtown LA

OPI Miami Beet

OPI St. Petersburgundy

OPI I'm Suzi & I'm A Chocoholic. Michelle of All Lacquered Up described this color as similar to the color of a paver stone. On her, it did resemble that, but on NC42 skin, it pulls more brown. This is why it is important to me to post these swatches. On tanned skin, this shade's name bears true.

OPI Keys To My Karma. This is similar to AA Downtown LA, only DTLA looks a smidge more orange toned.

Essie Material Girl

OPI Vodka & Caviar

China Glaze Naughty and Nice

OPI Conquistadorable Color. I love this as a pedicure shade.

Zoya Sam

OPI Manicurist of Seville. One of the prettiest berry reds I have ever seen. I love how this looks on me.

OPI Malaga Wine. One of my all-time favorite reds. I actually had trouble opening the bottle before I swatched it. It's so wonderful it doesn't want to be shared with everyone! 😛

Sally Hansen Honeymoon Red

OPI All A-Bordeaux the Sled. This one had opacity issues. What you are seeing is three coats.

That’s all for now! Leave a comment telling me about your favorite red creme polish and why you love it. I will post the other swatches later on. Have a good weekend, everyone!
