Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette Swatches

Guess who got her hands on the Vice 2 palette (no, not the Blair Witch. Although I have been called worse).

Since I missed out on last year’s Vice palette, I decided to just go ahead and splurge on this one.

I normally don’t care about packaging, but I must say UD did a great job with the design of the box.

See the pretty purple case?

My thoughts: I have not used these in any looks yet, but overall the shadows swatched decently on my arm. Many were powdery and created some fallout, but I felt it was manageable. Smokeout and Lovesick were the most problematic. They were sheer and patchy. I had to swipe color onto my arm perhaps four times in order to build up opacity. The other one that was somewhat sheer was Radar, but it was easier to work with and seemed manageable. Habit was the only one that swatched perfectly: heavily pigmented and applied smoothly.

Ouch, I’m so sorry to hear many of these are powdery and produce fallout! I have the 15th Anniversary Palette which is pretty good across the board, but I also learnt from it that I really just don’t reach for big palettes at all. That’s why I don’t think I’ll be getting more anytime soon! I’m sure you can do great looks with this though!

    • The fallout is not bad. I feel like you can definitely work with many of the shadows in Vice 2. It’s just that the fallout is something you need to watch out for, especially if you try to do a smokey eye with this palette.

  2. I love UD palettes, but i think there are too many dark blues/purples in here that I won’t use much
